Turkey’s National Day: Dancers Perform Highlighting Unique Culture Spanning Asia and Europe
On April 23rd, the 11th day of the Osaka-Kansai EXPO, Turkey’s National Day event was held.
At the event, dancers visiting Japan performed and introduced Turkey’s history—a unique culture bridging Asia and Europe.
Also on display inside the pavilion is a model of the “Ertuğrul Frigate,” which became a symbol of friendship after it was shipwrecked off the coast of Wakayama during the Meiji era and Japanese people rescued the Turkish crew.
Turkey’s Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, stated:
“We hope this will be an opportunity not only to introduce Turkey but also to deepen the ties between Japan and Turkey.”
On April 24th, Denmark’s National Day will be celebrated, and from May onward, events representing various countries and regions are planned nearly every day.
